Mech Comic
At the start of the 1970s, the earth was attacked by the parasites of a long dead celestial creature. In response, the burgeoning technology manufacturing company [COMP] creates the prototype [MECH], a huge, human-piloted suit of mechanical armor. In a desperate PR bid, the CEO [NAME] hires washed up pop star Ezra Nur from the gimmick roller-skating boyband Venus In Cancer to promote the mech. However, during the unveiling, Ezra ends up in the cockpit of the mech and is forced to fight the parasites on his own. But when messages start coming through the mech's terminal directing him what to do, Ezra discovers there are people within [COMP] who are willing to help him uphold the lie that this has been pop singer is actually humanity's savant savior...for something in exchange, of course.
MECH COMIC is a comic about public and personal perception of self, it's about labor and who is actually responsible when something is made. It's also about a lot of really faggy guys. It's something that I started kicking around in my head after I graduated college and started getting into baby's first Communist ideas. Over time it has grown to be about a lot of different things and it's been a little hard for me to wrangle and parse down into a single story! Currently I've written about one full "section" or "act", and have started on the second of what I assume will be about 5-6 acts.
